Field Trips Returning!

I am excited to announce that after our short break from posting field trips, we will be returning with a whole new system! 

Though a couple of our artists don't have a calendar to share with us, everyone else will have their in-world shows posted here in our blog as well as in our group and subscriber. 

It was getting exhausting trying to be on contantly to announce shows, as well as stressful when we missed an announcement. It's something we just don't want to miss for you guys. We now have a bot for our in-world group so we should be able to cover shows that occur when we are not available. This way, we can schedule notices and Ian do them even when he is on break at work! 

That said, we still have not found a system like this for our subscriber. 

As a HUGE fan of Casper Warden's truly incomparable work, I keep telling Brian that I wish he would come up with a both and subscriber as well! (If you somehow see this, Casper, HINT! HINT! XD)

Though we will still share our field trips with our subscriber group, we encourage everyone with available room for a group to join.

We love you all. Thank you so much for supporting The Dirty Grind family of artists. More big newness is coming soon, so STAY TOONED!

So What ARE Those Stray Balloons All About?

They are always waiting somewhere new to surprise us! Luis' balloons! Just like the owner, they always bring a smile to our faces when we seen one.

I was working on the sim last night and came across one of the many many balloons rezzed by the wonderful Luis from one of our sister venues, Hesperia of Templemore City SL.. There are three or four left over from a party he hosted on our sim last year. Its become a little joke for them to end up in random places on our sim.

Our sim is always changing, so make sure to keep coming back! Remember we are hosting our first photo contest through the 18th of July! We hope to receive lots of response. For more info, check out our post here.

We had so much fun celebrating the second anniversary of The Dirty Grind we decided to extend our festivities through the 18th of Ju,ly.

Who are we?

Ian and I have come to an exciting time in the evolution of our

dream of a not-for-profit artist community in Second Life,

The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community. As we near

our second anniversary, we are working to expand and

improve upon the already groundbreaking personalized

support we offer artists involved in Second Life and their

management team..




Our goal...our passion has always been to provide a haven

for artists in which creativity and community. flourishes. We

are here for our artists and wish to extend our reach as a

service organization.




The members of The Dirty Grind Family put their heart, soul,

time and much more into their art. We give them our resources

and experience so they can better concentrate on creating.




Ian and I share a background in music and business.




My background includes innovation and leadership in the international,

nonprofit sector, communication, creative writing and art knowledge

I am the founder and former president of a multi-national 501(c)3 and

an independent mixed media artist. Ian brings his experience

with corporate administration, as well as management history

with a brick and mortar live music venue.




We offer our artists and their management team our knowledge,

expertise, time and sim to help them and their team in many ways;

including:




- promoting artists work though listening and discovery

booths at our sim and in satellite locations, as well as

our website and blog;

Weekly Grindings!

Hello Dirty Grinders, busy times over on Fender in preparation for our 2^nd Anniversary celebrations, with our 2^nd Annual Carnival of the Arts now just a few short weeks away.

Our live performances this week commenced on Wednesday with the fabulous Suzen Juel, then followed by the rather special treat of Beth Odets joining Bat Masters.

The beautiful calming tones of Shannon Oherlihy filled the Grind next hour, with our finale of the evening Ke Aloha, always wonderful to hear his acoustic performances.

Thursday saw Beth Odets kick off the evening, then next up joined by the incomparable Matthew Perrault, always such fun the two together in stream. 

The evening wrapped up with the awesome Senjata Witt with original and eclectic selection of cover songs truly done in her own special style.

Sunday saw the move to our temporary home, The Illuminarium, with a fittingly a debut to start of the night by the one and only David Csiszer. The night continues in debut with Neomaximus Brandenburg.

Next and a perfect finale of the evening and indeed, the week, the angelic tones of Anidi Huet,

More live performers this Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at The Illuminarium! Hope to see you all there!
